Join us as we Ride Every Kilometre of the Week 1 of the Giro – A long week with the Grande Partenza starting in Torino and the Piemonte region of northern Italy, rolling down and along the Ligurian coast into Tuscany and some Strade Bianche, down the Apeninnes spine and finally to Naples on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Throw in an Individual Time Trial and two mountain stages into the mix of hilly, flat and coastal routes and the Giro d’Italia 2024 is ready for an exciting first week. Are you excited? We are!

“There is nothing quite like riding on the full route of the Giro d'Italia, with thousands of supporters on the road cheering us on and the peloton only an hour or two behind us.” Keith Tuffley, Founder of Grand Tours Project and the mind behind the "Ride Every Kilometre" concept.

We're offering the opportunity for amateur cyclists to Ride Every Kilometre of stages 1-9, on the same day as the race ahead of the caravan and pros. We'll be riding through some beautiful and spectacular regions of Italy with a VIP Finish and Podium access along the route.

1,412.2 kilometres and 15,350 metres ascent. The Grande Partenza entails the first 3 stages - first the hills around Torino, a mountain stage on stage 2 and then a flat section heading south. Along the coast for stages 4 and 5 and reaching beautiful Lucca. Stage 6 is in the Tuscan countryside through Siena and along Strade Bianche and the first Individual Time Trial (ITT) Foligno to Perugia - an opportunity to compare your Strava times with the pros at the end of the day as well as relax and re energise for the next day, Stage 8 to Prati di Tivo. Stage 9 will be relatively easy and mainly rolling down hill and back to the coast and into wonderfully chaotic Napoli.

This week is a good introduction to our Ride Every Kilometre tours - where you Ride. Every. Kilometre. of each stage in the morning ahead of the professional racers. Yes really. Grand Tours Project has successfully run these tours for several years and the 105th Giro d'Italia comprised 17 guests who accepted this challenge.

If 11 days is too much, we also offer the Grand Partenza Ride Every Kilometre tour. It’s a total of 5 days and you ride every kilometre of the first 3 stages.

*For shorter options of this week, enquire and request the full information.

If riding every kilometre sounds a bit much, then you may wish to join us for a more relaxed option involving 60-100km of riding each day - our Giro "Experience" tour.
