DAY 1: BIENVENUE À Bordeaux

WELCOME RIDE 25 km | 150 m

The journey starts in the heart of France’s most iconic wine country! We welcome you to Bordeaux, the elegant gateway to the first challenging week of the Tour de France 2026.
Your adventure begins with a private collection from the airport and a transfer to our premium hotel. Our team will be on hand to assist in assembling your bike or to fine tune rental bike adjustments, ensuring your machine is perfectly tuned before we head out for a short welcome ride to spin the travel out of your legs. If there is time, explore the UNESCO-listed city of Bordeaux and its stunning architecture, soaking up the pre-race atmosphere. The evening is reserved for our traditional pre-dinner drinks, followed by a comprehensive tour briefing from the GTP team detailing the route through the vineyards and into Central France. A superb welcome dinner, featuring the finest regional cuisine, will officially launch your Grand Tours Project experience.

DAY 2: Landes Forest & Relais Etape

70 km | 500 m or 45 km | 500 m

After breakfast, a short, comfortable van transfer will take you to the official route, roughly 100 km from the finish. Choose your challenge: an epic 70 km ride or a shorter, satisfying 45 km portion, both featuring manageable rolling terrain with around 500 m of ascent. The route is generally flat through the Landes’ forests and offers classic Grand Tour ‘pièges’ (traps): long, straight roads and subtle hilly sections and where breakaways by the pros are anticipated later in the day.
We ride this exciting segment before entering the premium Relais Étape Hospitality area. Located en route, this is your exclusive base to relax, refuel, and witness the official caravan, and then the peloton thunder past. You’ll see the pure speed and commitment of the sprinters’ teams, focused and totally committed to their objective before they head toward Bordeaux. You are then transferred to your hotel situated near Bergerac.

DAY 3: Bergerac Ultimate TDF D-Day Experience

70 km | 465 m or 35 km | 130 m

Today is your chance to step into the shoes of a Grand Tour champion! We offer you the exclusive D-Day Experience, riding the exact finish of a major stage and crossing the hallowed line just hours before the pros.
Following breakfast, a short transfer takes us straight onto the race route. From there, you choose your challenge: an epic 70 km ride or a 35 km effort. We cycle the final crucial kilometres of the day, soaking in the electric atmosphere as the finish line structures come into view. Our goal is Bergerac, where we will arrive and cross the official finish line, including a memorable photo opportunity mounting the official TDF podium. We’ll also enjoy the premium environment of the hospitality VIP zone to watch the televised build-up.
Once the peloton has thundered across the finish, the team will return you to your hotel.

DAY 4: Malemort VIP Départ & Bordeaux Wine

60 km | 660 m

After breakfast, we head straight to Malemort to fully experience the preparation and build-up in the VIP Start area. Our team grants you exclusive access to the pre-race hustle: observing the team buses and the teams prepare, watching the riders sign on and feeling the high-energy buzz as the peloton gathers at the start – a truly unique moment to experience the Grande Boucle up close.
Following lunch, we take a comfortable van transfer to begin our afternoon ride tracing the river on traffic-free, easy roads for several tranquil kilometres. The terrain soon shifts as we climb into the beautiful wine-growing hills of the region. This is where the scenery and the cycling become truly rewarding – undulating roads offering picturesque views over the famous estates. Our stunning tour concludes at at a Bordeaux winery. Here, we trade our bikes for barrels, enjoying a well-deserved wine tasting. Afterwards, a short transfer takes you to your final delightful hotel in Bordeaux and a final dinner together.

DAY 5: DÉPART ET SOUVENIRS

Au Revoir Bordeaux

Today marks the close of our exceptional Grand Tours Project adventure through Bordeaux and the challenging Massif Central. You leave not just with the kilometres in your legs, but with the souvenirs of a true Grand Tour Experience, lifelong friendships, and the spirit of the Grande Boucle.
We recommend a midday or later flight to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Our private transfers will ensure a comfortable journey from the hotel directly to Bordeaux Airport for your onward flight.
If the idea of this unforgettable experience, blending Tour de France passion with personal riding achievements and savouring Bordeaux wines and cuisine, appeals to you, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Grand Tours Project to secure your place.

Tour de France: Pyrenees Escape "Experience" Tour, 2025

The Pyrenees experience with GTP was a trip of a lifetime. The climbing, the scenery, and having front row seats to watch the tour was epic! The guides were so fun and supportive and really added to the entire experience. I will definitely be back for more!

Tour de France: "Experience" - Pyrenees Escape, 2025

Grand Tours Project is a don’t miss!! The entire team went above and beyond to provide the experience of a lifetime. We are a husband and wife team who participated in the Pyrenees Escape; I as a spectator and my husband as a rider. As a spectator companion, I was included in the riding group and afforded the luxury of following them in the team van, getting great pictures and video, and providing support with drinks/snacks. There was never a dull
moment, the scenery spectacular, and the access to/amenities provided in Le Tour Villages top notch. The best part of this experience was the people. Our group included individuals from around the globe. The camaraderie was instant and we forged relationships that will last a lifetime. Bravo, GTP… well done!
