3 Jul 2025 - 12 Jul 2025
Embarking on a journey through Stages 4 to 7 of the 2025 Tour de France offers a unique blend of cycling excitement, cultural exploration, and culinary delights. The Tour de France 2025 starts in Northern France for the first time since 2021. After a Grand Depart in Hauts-de-France, the race route heads west along the Normandy coastal regions via ancient cities towards Brittany - also last visited in 2021. An area of France facing the Channel and the United Kingdom, it has been subject to many wars and battles over the centuries, most recently the devastating World Wars of the 20th Century.
Normandy is home to magnificent cities with medieval ties to England - namely the Dukes of Normandy who ruled England and built magnificent cathedrals and castles - Rouen where Joan of Arc was tried and murdered, and now a city famed for its old architecture and hundred spires; Caen, the city with 100 bell towers, will hold its 1,000th anniversary. Bayeux… yes of Bayeux of tapestry fame, and where, nearly 800 years later, the D-Day landings took place on the nearby beaches and liberated France.
Further west you reach Bretagne (Brittany). A region of ancient Celtic history and whose inhabitants are proudly protective of their heritage and identity. Saint-Malo, the beautiful walled port city and once a pirate stronghold is found here. Stunning beaches, green rolling countryside, prehistoric standing stones, pretty villages, superb seafood, before reaching the Mûr-de-Bretagne. Another stage inland from the coast and finally the first mountain stage to Le Mont-Dore.
The Grand Tours Project TDF ‘The Landings’ Week 1 provides two stage finish line crossings, podiums and VIP Zone access as well as entrance to a VIP Start Villa; carefully crafted cycle routes along sections of the actual race route as well as nearby; and multiple opportunities of free time to explore the cities and enjoy the historic sites of Normandy and Brittany. Add in our exceptional guides and team support, comfortable hotels and delicious French cuisine - seafood, cider and wines - and you have a unique and leisurely Tour de France 2025 experience.
