Day 1: Bienvenue - Arrival in Geneva & Welcome Ride

20 km | 200 m

Bienvenue en Suisse! We will meet you at Geneva Airport for a scenic transfer to your hotel, the modern and comfortable Everness Hotel overlooking the tranquil Lac Léman, also known as Lake Geneva. After check in, the team will help you prepare your bike for a short and scenic welcome ride along the lakeshore, a perfect introduction to the Swiss roads. Later, we’ll gather for a welcome drink and a tour briefing, where we will present you with your Grand Tours Project kit and Scicon rainbag, setting the stage for the week’s adventure. A delicious dinner at the hotel awaits, a final moment to relax and get to know your fellow riders.

Day 2: UNESCO Lavaux Vineyards, the Olympic Museum & Chateau de Chillon

76 km | 420 m

Today’s ride begins with a beautiful route along the shores of the lake to Lausanne, where we’ll make a stop to visit the impressive Olympic Museum. From there, we continue into the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Lavaux vineyards. This stunning route offers a breathtaking vista, with the terraced vineyards cascading down to the tranquil waters of Lac Léman with the dramatic backdrop of the Alps.

We will pass through the towns of Vevey and Montreux, with our destination being the iconic Château de Chillon, a medieval castle rising directly from the lake. If time permits, a relaxing journey back to your hotel on a classic paddleboat steamer, allowing you to admire the shoreline from a new perspective.

Day 3: Lac de Bret, Murten to Bern

93 km | 870 m

After a short morning transfer to the peaceful Lac de Bret, your Swiss Plateau journey to the Swiss capital of Bern begins. The route takes you through the bucolic Fribourg countryside to the pretty medieval town of Murten, a perfect lunch stop to explore the historic old town and its lakeside promenade. From there, you continue to Bern along the river Aare to your hotel. On hot summer days, locals swim to and from work in the river! After checking in, we recommend that you wander through the famous Bear Park (Canton Bern’s flag emblem) and explore the UNESCO-listed Old Town before dinner.

Day 4: Bern, Speiz to Interlaken PLUS Lauterbrunnen option

62 km | 980 m + 38 km | 590 m

Today’s ride is a visual feast as we cycle from Bern through rolling verdant green countryside to Spiez, stopping in Spiez on the shores of Thunersee (Lake Thun) to admire Schloss Spiez with uninterrupted views of the turquoise water and majestic peaks as a dramatic backdrop. We’ll ride on to Interlaken, the gateway to the high Alps, with an option to cycle into the iconic Lauterbrunnen Valley, a “Tolkienesque” landscape of soaring cliffs and cascading waterfalls. Your hotel awaits in the Interlaken area, with a perfect view of the mountains.

Day 5: Grosse Scheidegg & Brunig Pass towards Lucerne

80 km | 2,100 m

This is an epic day in the high alps. You can start from the hotel or opt to start further along the route – no shame as the route today is long and steep. However there are plenty of opportunities to stop, – an owl sanctuary, friendly cows seeking scratches and pats, and of course the views (!) and before you know it you summit on Grosse Scheidegg, a high-alpine climb famous for its car-free roads and glacier vistas. As you climb, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the legendary Eiger North Face. An equally long and fast descent takes you into Meiringen and an optional climb to Brunig Pass. After completing your ride, the team will transfer you to your hotel near the beautiful shores of Lake Lucerne.

Day 6: Lucerne to Schwyz, Ibergeregg to Rapperswil-Jona PLUS Zurich option

78 km | 1,490 m + 30 km | 110 m

Your last day of riding is a spectacular one. We’ll start with a beautiful ride along Lake Lucerne to the city of Schwyz. From there, you’ll take on the final pass of the tour, the scenic Ibergeregg Pass – only 1,406 metres but with challenging steep pitches. After conquering the summit, a thrilling descent takes you to Rapperswil-Jona, on the eastern shores of Lake Zurich. Here you can choose to take a transfer or ride the final 30 km into Zurich along the lake shores.

Day 7: Departure Day

Auf Wiedersehen

All good things must come to an end, and today we say goodbye to Switzerland. After a final Swiss breakfast, our team will provide a  transfer to Zurich Airport for your onward journey. This unforgettable journey – from the sun-drenched vineyards of Lac Léman to the exhilarating heights of the Grosse Scheidegg and the final ride towards Zurich will stay with you for a lifetime.
