    20km - 350m

We will meet you at Venice Airport and drive 2 hours to our hotel in Izola, Slovenia. After check-in, we’ll help you get you bike set up and then set off for an afternoon warm-up ride through the oldest city in Slovenia, Koper. Formerly an island, Koper’s centre is made up of elegant renovated Venetian squares and buildings. We will then head into the picturesque hinterlands to ride through rural villages, past farms, olive groves and vineyards and back to charming Izola.

At the hotel, we'll do final adjustments to the bikes, give out the GTP kit and have a welcome meeting. Our first Istrian dinner together will be at our hotel.

    77km / 1,400m

Today we’ll hit the beautiful roads around Izola Peninsula. Izola is a former fishing village with narrow streets, Venetian charm and a large marina. Outside of Izola is a treasure trove of ancient sites, verdant forests, natural springs and rural countryside; and a 4km stretch of coast to Koper that is closed to traffic to help protect the natural biodiversity of the sea. We'll stop at the best place for photos with the Adriatic Sea and Alps in the background and then at Rodica Winery to taste some of the best Istrian wines.

Back in Izola, you can spend time by the sea, or wander through the narrow streets before we jump in the shuttle for dinner in Piran, THE most beautiful Mediterranean medieval town.
