Week 2 of the Giro d’Italia and the race heads north back across the Apennines, along the Adriatic coast and inland to Lago di Garda before tackling the Lombardy mountains and reaching Livigno. For the pros that is about 13,250 metres of climbing over 958 kilometres over six stages . For you, significantly less but still challenging!

"This experience of riding on the same course as the pros, and just a few hours ahead of them, is unique in the sporting world. The atmosphere is simply incredible." Keith Tuffley, Founder - Grand Tours Project.

Week 2 is a mix of two seas and several mountain passes, one glamorous lake, varied terrain, an Individual Time Trial, and the Tappone - the biggest stage of the Giro on the last day of Week 2. That is a lot to fit into one week.

The Grand Tours Project team will also guide you along quieter routes, through mountain river valleys, past quaint villages and towns with opportunities to stop for espressos and pastries. You will be able to access a VIP Start area to observe and chat with the support crews, maybe take a selfie with one of the riders and then enjoy the spectacle before the stage starts. We have also included access to the Giro VIP Finish area where you can relax and enjoy the Italian food and drinks, watch the big screen and then roar along with other madly passionate fans, the riders on as they sprint, race and then exhaustingly pedal over the finish.

But that's not all! On one stage, you will be able to cross the official Giro d’Italia Finish, the same as the pros, and then mount the Giro Winners’ Podium for memorable photos.

As an "Official Premium Tour Operator", you will have our support vehicle with you for the whole distance. Riding on the race course just a few hours before the pros makes this an unforgettable experience.

    DEPARTURE - ARRIVEDERCI!

Do not book an early flight! We recommend a sleep in and a leisurely breakfast after a week of riding the Giro. There is a long transfer to the airport so we recommend an afternoon flight. The GTP team will help with checking out and transfer you to Bergamo or Milan Airport for your return home or onward journey elsewhere.

We hope that the Week 2 Experience will meet your expectations.

If you can not join us for this week, you may want to have a look at our other Giro d’Italia Experiences and Escapes, you can find them here.
