APRIL CAMP FULLY BOOKED : Join us in Girona for this innovative women's cycling camp and perfect your cycling skills with New Zealand's pro rider Emily Collins. Girona has been dubbed Europe's Cycling Mecca... home to many Pro riders and for good reason - fantastic cycling roads and terrain, a warm climate and a livley atmosphere in town.

Our Women’s Cycling Camp is all about riding on Girona’s famous roads, learning new skills, gaining more confidence on the bike, and making new friends.

Maybe you’re a strong climber but a slow descender, maybe you find yourself struggling to ride in a peloton, or perhaps you just want to enjoy a week in the Spanish countryside with a group of like-minded girls and build your confidence on the bike. Emily Collins - a former TEAM TIBCO-SVB and Wiggle High 5 pro cyclist - will be sharing her knowledge, skills and many years of experience throughout the week, both on the daily guided rides and in skills-specific afternoon workshops.

At Grand Tours Project, we are passionate about living our lives as sustainably as possible, and the bicycle is both a symbol and a practical tool in creating a sustainable future. So we have designed this women’s camp to be at the cutting edge of how cycle tours and camps should be run in the future. This is the world’s first cycle camp using a 100% electric car as the support vehicle … our Tesla Model S electric car will join you on the rides each day, guaranteeing us the peace and quiet that goes with electric vehicles.

As well as riding, this camp also offers the atmosphere of being a pro cyclist, by living with your team-mates in our beautiful villa situated in the Girona countryside. Our in-house chef will prepare delicious healthy meals with local ingredients, and we will enjoy post-ride massages and a group yoga session.

This camp has been specifically designed for women with average-to-good cycling skills and experience but who wish to gain more out of their cycling. The average cycling distance per day is 60-100km. You will leave this camp feeling confident with your newly acquired skills and ready to take on a new challenge. Please contact us with any questions.

    WELCOME TO GIRONA

    20 - 30 km

Nestled in the beautiful rolling countryside of the Baix Empordà, this stunning Catalonian villa will be yours for the week. It is the perfect venue to meet everyone, followed by a short afternoon ride. We will return to the villa for a delicious dinner - prepared by our in-house chef's Mike and Michelle using local ingredients.

  • DAY 2

    Rolling Hills

    50 - 70 km

Struggling to beat your previous Strava record? Today is all about learning how to manage your efforts on short hills and maintain a speed that you are comfortable with.

Later in the day Emily will deliver an in-villa session on "how to train", before enjoying a well deserved dinner.

  • DAY 3

    Climbing

    40 - 60 km

Climbing a big hill is not all about fitness and strength - there are skills and tactics to be learned. We all know what it feels like to suffer on a climb, and the first goal is to enjoy it! On our first climb of the day, Emily will share tips and tactics on how to manage big mountains. On the second climb the pace will be set for you ... are you up for the challenge to race a pro? Do your new tactics work?

In the afternoon, you will have the chance to listen about "life as a pro" and ask as many questions as you like, and we may be lucky to be joined by another pro who lives in Girona.

  • DAY 4

Recover like a pro - Coffee Ride, explore Girona and evening Yoga session

    30km

You may be surprised looking at the distance we cycle today, but pros know how to recover in style... an easy ride into Girona followed by a coffee at La Fábrica is all it takes!

Take the rest of the afternoon to find a spot for lunch and explore Girona at your own pace, guided by Emily's tips on the hidden secrets. Upon returning to the villa it's time to get together in the garden for a much needed yoga session.

  • DAY 5

    Descending

    40 - 60 km

Descending should be about having fun while remaining safe and in control. Finish day 5 feeling confident on descent, knowing which line to take, where to break, and how to find the best body position.

Conserve your energy and prepare your muscles for tomorrow with a relaxing massage in the afternoon!

  • DAY 6

    Endurance Ride

    120 km

Put your new skills to the test on this endurance ride and Emily's favourite route around the Costa Brava region. Riding in a group is an important skill, and we will work together as a team to conserve energy, maintain a good pace, and stay safe.

"The stretch of road along the coast is pretty phenomenal and won't get old anytime soon!"

Enjoy a mid-ride picnic in a beautiful location before riding back to the villa. Following a well deserved rest we will enjoy our final evening by having a dinner out in Girona.

  • DAY 7

    FINAL RIDE & GOODBYE!

    20 - 30 km

After breakfast we will enjoy one last morning ride as a group before everyone returns back to their home turf to put our new skills to use.
