Spain. Summer is calling…

Grand Tours Project Team

Apr / 7 / 2021

Stunning scenery - from the dramatic, imposing mountains to the countless glistening beaches that nestle along its coastlines, Spain is a country full of natural beauty and inspiring landscapes.

It is definitely the ideal place to vacation and explore by bike. We have witnessed endless magical moments, exploring and riding Mallorca, riding to the famous Sa Calobra, as well as climbing the Alto de L'Angliru in Asturias, and visiting the famous Alhambra in Granada!

And not forgetting the Spanish gastronomy, I immediately think of Paella! That it is perhaps the most famous Spanish dish of all! Authentic paella originates from the region around Valencia and comes in two varieties: Paella Valenciana, with rabbit and chicken; and of course the “Paella de Marisco” (seafood paella).

Back in 2018 and 2019, we had the opportunity to closely follow the Grand Tour of Spain, where we were able to ride the 21 stages over 25 days, an endless number of towns, villages, as well as kilometres of adrenaline, coexistence with our teammates and love for the bicycle.

We felt the warmth of the people who welcomed us as we passed through narrow paths full of fans and in the same way we were able to enjoy the atmosphere that you get when you are in a new country discovering and exploring it, by bike, letting ourselves be guided by locals.

Those hot days, where we drank refreshing sangria after arriving at our hotel and then throwing ourselves into the cool sea to wash away of the day’s dust, sweat and exhaustion.

With Spain's beautiful landscape and climate, museums, gastro-tourism, city breaks and world-famous football clubs, the country in September is perfectly placed to have a great escape and beautiful holidays.
