26 Aug 2024 - 2 Sep 2024
Week 2 of the Ride Every Kilometre Grand Tour of Spain heads north and stays in the region. Hilly and mountainous stages through Galicia, Asturias, Leon and the region known as Green Spain. Very different from the dry and hot Andalusia of southern Spain.
All the stages are in the north and as a result the weather is less predictable - rain is a possibility, temperate temperatures but so are heat waves. The stages are not flat, most are mountainous and although not reaching the heights of mountains in the Giro and the Tour de France, they remain many and challenging.
Summer in arable and verdant green countryside, mountains and the Atlantic and Cantabrian Coasts; ancient Roman ruins and renaissance towns and cities; superb Spanish cuisine using local produce plus the expertise of the Grand Tours Project team.
The Grand Tours Project Ride Every Kilometre (REK) Week 2 provides full support and guidance along the TOTAL race route on the day of the race. This often means pre-dawn starts in order to avoid the late afternoon heat but more importantly to stay ahead of the race. If you want a challenge, to experience a small part of what the pros are subject to, then #RideEveryKilometre Week 2, encompassing 6 complete stages, of the third and last Grand Tour of the UCI season, Spain’s premier cycle race, definitely worth considering.
We are also offering our "Experience" tours, which cater for cyclists who wish to ride 60-100km each day. Either way, you will love La Vuelta and the whole experience of riding on the route just ahead of the peloton.
