As an "Official Tour Operator" of the Giro d'Italia, Grand Tours Project is in a special position to deliver the ultimate experience for passionate cyclists. Our 2019 tours are now open for early bookings. We are the experts in guiding passionate cyclists in riding every kilometre of this amazing race, on the same day as the event, just a few hours ahead of the pros. We're also experts in guiding a more relaxed tour in each week of the race (70-100km each stage). Join us for a cycling holiday of a lifetime at "the toughest race in the world’s most beautiful place – Italy"

With our "Ride Every Km" tours, we're offering the opportunity to ride the entire route - every, single kilometre. You can choose to ride 3, 6, 9 or all 21 stages. You will need to be a strong cyclist to achieve this challenge, but you don't need to be an elite athlete ... ours is a journey, not a race, and we'll leave enough time on each day to enjoy our lunch breaks and photo stops. Once we cross the finish line each day, we'll sit back and watch the race as the "fight for pink" takes place only a couple of hours after us.

If this tour is a bit too challenging for you, then join us on one of our more relaxed "Experience" tours, as we ride 70-100km on each of the 6-9 stages of the race. You will have more time to watch the race at the finish line, visit the VIP zones, enjoy poolside drinks at the hotel, and explore the village we're staying in each evening.

There are very limited spaces on these tours - with a maximum of 14 riders on each tour, supported by 2 expert guides and 2 drivers / mechanics. This small group will ride together and will always have the support van close by – with drinks, snacks and dry clothing.
Riding on the race course just a few hours before the pros, with the support of the crowds and our team, makes this an unforgettable experience.

To get an idea of our tours, read below the weekly description of the 2018 edition of Giro d’Italia. The route of the 2019 edition will be announced in October 2018.

Total price: From - €1,500 (3 stages), €3,490 (6 stages), €4,950 (9 stages), €11,850 (all 21 stages)

  • 2018 "Grande" Partenza Jerusalem & Israel

    Jerusalem - Eilat, Israel

    6 days | 5 nights (3 stages)

For the first time in its 101 year history, the Giro raced outside of Europe. The first 3 stages were held in Israel, starting with an individual time trial through the streets of Jerusalem, followed by a coastal route into Tel Aviv, and then a unique ride through the Negev Desert. This created history for the Grand Tours ... it was an extraordinary experience cycling through the streets of Jerusalem, and then 3 weeks later riding through the streets of Rome having completed over 3,500km from the toe to the top of Italy.

  • 2018 Giro Week 1 - Sicily to Apennines

Catania (Sicily) to Gran Sasso d'Italia (Apennines)

    8 Days | 7 Nights (6 Stages)

After the first three stages in Israel, the Giro recommenced in Sicily, and this meant another climb up the biggest volcano in Europe, Mt Etna, following the exciting finish on stage 5 in 2017. Then, to wind its way up from the toe of Italy, the route travelled through some of the best cycling regions in all of Italy - Calabria, the Apennine mountains, and the Abruzzo region. The first week of the Giro always features surprisingly beautiful scenery, and this edition was no exception.

  • 2018 Giro Week 2 - Apennines to Dolomites

    Penne (Apennines) to Sappada (Dolomites)

    8 Days | 7 Nights (6 Stages)

After a much needed rest day, Week 2 of the Giro continued northwards from the Abruzzo to the Veneto region, along some of the most beautiful cycling routes in Italy, particularly the hilly landscapes around Assisi. Once we reached the mountains in the north, we climbed up the infamous Monte Zoncolan, one of the most challenging ascents on the professional bike circuit - it is steep, long and iconic. It has featured in the Giro only 5 times in its 100-year history, so this was a rare and breathtaking experience. We then briefly entered the Dolomites, where more stunning mountain passes tested our legs before the final rest day.

  • 2018 Giro Week 3 - Lake Garda, Alps & Rome

Trento / Lake Garda to Rome

    8 Days | 7 Nights (6 Stages)

From the mountains in the north-east, the Giro headed to the Alps in the north-west, and climbed up to Cervinia, the southern base of the Matterhorn for the last mountain finish. Rome was the final destination ... an appropriate end-point following the start in Jerusalem, and featuring for only the 4th time in the Giro's 101-year history. Following our ride through the car-free streets of Rome, we relaxed over the best Italian food and wine as we watched the exciting final stage of the race from the VIP zone, with the pros sprinting to the finish line.
